Ricci slams Meloni: "She'll come here and tell lies."

Macerata, August 3, 2025 – Former mayor of Pesaro, Matteo Ricci , MEP and candidate for regional president, has resumed his tour of the Macerata area following the Affidopoli scandal and his interrogations as part of the corruption investigation into the Municipality's awarding of contracts to two non-profit organizations, Opera Maestra and Stella Polare, between 2019 and 2024.

Yesterday, 'Ricci on the Beach' stopped in Civitanova , Porto Potenza , and Porto Recanati , traveling by sea between the various locations. In Civitanova, the aspiring governor also spoke about regional councilor Renato Claudio Minardi , from the same party and also under investigation, but in Fermo, in the investigation into European funds that involves four other people for corruption, misappropriation of public funds for agriculture, and embezzlement of approximately €300,000 to the detriment of the state. "We need to see what the truth is," Ricci said. "Minardi knows nothing; we'll see how things develop." He then went on the attack "over the re-election of a regional councilor," referring to Andrea Putzu of the Italian Communist Party (FdI), "who should have been removed from office, who was convicted at the third level of judgment, and instead served as a regional councilor for five years, perhaps without the right to do so." "If that councilor was unable to fulfill that role, all the documents he voted for and signed risk being nullified."
There was no shortage of jabs at the current government : "On Monday (tomorrow for those reading, ed.) , Acquaroli, along with Meloni, Salvini, and Tajani, will list empty numbers, because the citizens' perception is clear: healthcare has worsened , the economy too, and tariffs will incredibly penalize exports. A supply chain of fiction: they won't say that, if it were up to them, the PNRR funds would never have arrived. Let them continue lying to the people of the Marche, thinking they can deceive them. We will continue our grassroots campaign among the people, in the midst of reality." Avs also took issue with the prime minister, and, with Andrea Nobili, even wrote to the prefect of Ancona, alleging a "violation of impartiality and administrative neutrality" by the government.
